COMMENT:

I'm happy and proud to be able to offer you this shape, which is one of Cavicchi's most recent and exciting additions to his shape arsenal. Though it is not my shape at all, I'm completely in love with it, and if I smoked anything other than perfectly straight pipes, I'm sure I would have added one in this shape to my personal collection. There's no doubt in my mind that the best way to define the shape is by using the term "Freehand"; however, I do have an idea. You see, when you look at the bowl shape, with the mouthpiece pointing towards the floor, I bet you anything you will see a... "Golf club"! Please look at the first picture on the left, and tilt your head to the left side, and see if you agree! What is also so unique about this pipe is that it is not really rusticated but rather "Semi-rusticated", with the entire bowl side that faces the shank in a completely natural, smooth finish, and the same with the shank. The shank comes with a very attractive insert that combines black acrylic and boxwood. The elegant tapered mouthpiece is so slender and it is of a Military Mount. This is a magnificent pipe, and I would recommend it as highly as any other pipe I have ever recommended. Not only is it beautiful, elegant, innovative, and unique, but the fact that it comes in this rare combination of rusticated and smooth, and more significantly,is being for this low price makes it as attractive a deal as can be.

COMMENT:

As you may know, I have used the term "Tomato" quite a bit before; however, this is the first time I see the need to add the word "chubby" to the shape definition, and I hope it is clear why. Let me put the reason for this decision in figures: the bowl height is 42mm, while the bowl diameter is 55mm. The shank is, in addition, which robust, and so it does complement the bowl in its chubbiness. I also have to mention that the bowl is very slightly canted forward, and you see this more clearly when you measure the height of the bowl from two different sides: the wall facing the shank is 43mm tall, while the outer (opposite) wall measures only 39mm. Apart from all the science and math, I find this pipe to be a true beauty and a delicate combination of classic and modern pipe shapes.
