COMMENT:

A straight classic Billiard, with a traditional tapered mouthpiece. The rustication is quite delicate, with two large part left in smooth finish: 50% of the shank, where the nomenclature is stamped, and the bowl rim, which exhibits Bird's Eye.

COMMENT:

This pipe brings back the memory of an old Armellini pipes I used to have. I got that Armellini pipe because I was attracted by the innovative shape and in spite of the fact that the pipe was too large me. I traded the pipe years ago, and I was very happy to find the same shape with the name Mastro on it. Note that the maker used a coarse and pronounced rustication pattern on the and around the bowl and a finer, more delicate one around the shank. The smooth bowl rim is smooth and shows a wonderful blend of Bird's Eye and Crossgrain.

COMMENT:

This pipe shows the fabulous classic Apple, but with a touch of elegance and innovation. What gave me reason to add the word "Freeform" to the shape definition is the little heel at the base of the bowl and shank. This little addition made the pipe a whole lot more distinctive.

COMMENT:

This shape is quite unusual, and yet, it appears to be quite familiar in its basic features. The whole trip is the very skillful way in which the shank was made to appear independent from the bowl, and this is thanks to the little heel at the base of both the bowl and shank. I love the flow of the flow, starting with the bowl base, onto to the tapered shank, passing by the slim silver ring and continuing on to the tapered mouthpiece. The pipe does indeed show a whole lot of harmony. The mouthpiece (bit) is almost 20mm wide, offering extra comfort for those who find a wider mouthpiece more comfortable to clench on.

COMMENT:

Panel Billiards are among the most traditional and classic variations of the Billiard, and yet, they are so hard to come by. This one comes with a bowl showing 8 panels, and shank showing two (one goes around for 3/4 of the shank and the flat base where the finish is smooth and the nomenclature is stamped). As you expect, the flat bowl and shank base allows the pipe to stay still on a flat surface with no support. In spite of the relatively low weight of the overall pipe, it has a HUGE tobacco chamber (check out the measurements above).
