COMMENT: This is another excellent interpretation of the classic Dublin. The deviation from the traditional shape lies mainly in the lowest part of the bowl and, more importantly, the shank. As you can see, Radice flattened the bowl-shank base, creating what appears to be an elongated "drop" of water. As you would expect, the pipe can rest on a flat surface without any support. When you put the pipe down, you see most of the shank and the mouthpiece suspended in the air, which, I must admit, gives an air of elegance to the whole shape. Like most Radice's, the pipe exhibits an excellent blast, and the color of the pipe stands in fabulous contrast with the natural, smooth bowl top, which, by the way, exhibits excellent Bird's Eye. |
